Thanksgiving is the Time to share with our community. That is a cultural point very different with the French culture. In New York, I suppose is the same in the Whole USA, being part in a community is anchored in the US lifestyle.
And to be honest, when you arrived, even with a husband and kids, you feel yourselves alone. We had to quit friends and families.
Today, I wanted to share with you the link of a non profit organization Accueil NY, which it goal is to rassemble the French people in NY. You can find many activities each time of days or weeks, for workers or not workers, with kids or without kids, for young or old person.
I don't like to give advices to others, but if you have an expat project, in NY or in others cities all over the world, there are lots of chances you will find Accueil ....
Without it, I wouldn't find friends and french mummies to share my present. And it's sure Histoires de pompons wouldn't be born.
